Admission Guidelines


  1. Candidates are required to complete a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline (except performing and fine arts) from a recognized Indian University or Foreign University (As per University Norms) with a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate (5% relaxation will be given to the reserved category candidates).
  2. Final year students awaiting results may also apply, nevertheless, their admission will be treated as purely provisional. Before the commencement of the first semester examination they have to obtain the requisite qualification as stated in point (1), otherwise their candidature may stand cancelled.
  3. Candidates fulfilling the above mentioned eligibility need to appear for the Entrance Test (100 marks) i.e. NBUMAT & score minimum 50% (5% relaxation will be given to SC, ST, OBC candidates), conducted by the Department of Management, University of North Bengal. Candidates having valid scores of CAT / XAT / MAT / CMAT / GMAT / ATMA / WBJEMAT are however exempted from appearing in the aforementioned Entrance Test.
  4. Qualified candidates of NBUMAT and candidates having valid scores of CAT / XAT / MAT / CMAT / GMAT / ATMA / WBJEMAT entrance tests as stated in point 3 will appear for the final selection process. The final selection process will comprise Group Discussion (GD: 25 marks), Personal Interview (PI: 25 marks), Essay Writing (25 marks) & Extempore (25 marks).
  5. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in GD, PI, Essay Writing & Extempore by the candidates. Any tie on the score sheet may be resolved by considering the score up to three places after the decimal point.
  6. Under any exceptional situation when the tests stated in point (3) cannot be conducted, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying examination by the candidates as stated in point (1).   7. The merit list will be prepared in accordance with the Government and University rules and norms.
